Easter Trip

Today I spent the day shopping in Buffalo. Ended up making it to two locations,

Fashion Outlets

Walden Galleria

Of the two spots, I highly recommend the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls because the prices are really good with a great variety of stores.

Yet another watch was added to my collection today (at 40% off!),

Site for Movie

If you're looking for a movie or TV show to watch, it's worth checking out TV Shack as it contains a vast library of movies and TV shows. All content is streamed off various media sharing servers such as MegaVideo and can be watched directly through your Internet browser. Even some of the latest movies that have not been released on DVD yet can be found on this site, mind you, the quality isn't something to boast about.

Thank goodness for media sharing.

Free Audio Books

Just recently I've taken a liking to audio books. For some odd reason I can't sit and read a book for long, maybe it's my ADD, or the fact that someone is bound to start talking to me causing a distraction.

My fix to this was to start listening to audio books. It's quite convenient because everywhere I go I have my iPhone with me, and it's a lot more convenient to carry than a book. I find that if I listen to it right before I fall asleep I'm able to retain a lot more than when reading. Maybe this means I'm much better at listening than reading, who knows.

Anyways, point being -- I found this website that offers a library of audio books all for free. Can't beat this. This will help me from spending money on iTunes. Score.

Books Should Be Free

Good Job Search Sites

So in efforts of keeping my options open I've been exploring what other work opportunities are available. In my search I've been using online job banks as much as possible, but find that the more common one's such as Monster or Workopolis are flooded with useless job postings from money sucking staffing agencies. Who needs them anyways, why shouldn't you be able to find a job without their help.

So here are a few good websites to get you started in your search,

Numark Omni Controller

Purchased a wicked piece of hardware this weekend. It's called the Numark Omni USB DJ controller. This puppy allows me to set-up two virtual decks on my laptop and DJ my MP3 collection real time (via a single USB connection). The controller comes with a built in sound card within the device so it's able to process real time data without a noticeable delay or reduced sound quality. This is great because there is no need to lug around an extra interface hub if you just want to run over to your friends house. Also the controller is fully powered via the USB connection, so your computer can power the set-up, at least until your battery drains.

Even though this is a great piece of technology, in a way I feel like I'm cheating at the whole 'learning to DJ experience' because the software that it comes with analyzes a MP3 and finds the tracks BPM, ultimately allowing you to sync both songs with the tap of a key - this takes out the effort of having to match up the songs beats while transitioning from one to the next.

Numark Omni

Out of box it came with Traktor LE software. I'm really considering upgrading to Traktor Pro version because it offers additional features that are not available in the LE version such as multiple cue'ing, more effect filters, preset equalizers, auto DJ mode to free you up if you need to jump away from the table (there are plenty more just can't remember them all).

Traktor LE

I think I finally found my release and a hobby that I really do enjoy. The first day I brought this toy home, I was in a trance and used it for a consecutive 4 hours fully loosing track of time. Really look forward to my next session - I don't think our neighbor upstairs appreciates my musical abilities.

Good job Numark, I'm not disappointed with my purchase!

Winnetou

Growing up I use to watch these movies from Karl May. Finally found a copy of the series online and have downloaded them. Winnetou is a fictional Native American hero series based off novels written by German writer Karl May. Below is a picture of Winnetou and Old Shatterhand. Old Shatterhand became the blood brother of Winnetou. This brings back memories.

Parajumpers’s Jackets

Lately have been noticing a different winter brand trend on the streets of Toronto when it comes to winter jackets. Have seen quite a few people wearing some pretty sweet and trendy jackets with the letters PJS on their patch. After doing some research I was able to find that they are "Parajumpers" brand. They appear to be the next level up from Canada Goose and a lot more detailed in terms of design, where Canada Goose jackets tend to stay true to their simplistic nature. Cost for these jackets ranges from $600 - $1,200. For me these jackets trump Canada Goose as well as North Face and I will be seriously considering this brand the next time I'm on the market for a new jacket.

Here are a couple pictures of styles that caught my eye,
